Robert Muir, M.AIB, M.AIQS, CPE

Chief Cost Index Expert

 

Mr. Muir has been operating in the construction industry for close to three decades. Completing degree studies in Building/Construction Management and Quantity Surveying/Building Economics, he was sent on a path of mastering the art and science of calculating and predicting costs for projects in the construction industry.

 

After going the extra mile to excel in the Construction Estimating and Quantity Surveying sectors, Mr. Muir realized in his late twenties that he needed a new career challenge. The opportunity to bring his skills to the United States did just that. Mr. Muir immigrated from Australia and can now operate proficiently in Metric and Imperial, estimate all disciplines, and has experience at all levels from Trade contractors, Prime/General contractors, Quantity Surveying/Cost Consultancy, Construction Management including a mix of managing projects and Leading a Cost Consultancy for over twenty years, and Agency oversight designing systems and training staff.

 

As a teenager he had the opportunity to invest money after the 1987 Stock market crash. Within 6 months the investment had doubled, and Mr. Muir knew the financial markets and the economic cycles had a large influence Construction Industry and the Bid Market.

 

With his passion for meticulous, precise work and predicting the costs of construction, Mr. Muir tracks the economy to be as accurate as possible, and so he may provide good advice to clients.

 

How did the patent protected 'Market Reactive' 'Muir Construction Cost Index' come about?

 

Mr. Muir found he could not rely on other indexes to track the change and fluctuation in construction costs after the pandemic. There was a gap in the construction industry, and a problem no one was solving. Having many years designing solutions and systems for clients, and himself, Mr. Muir used his experience and knowledge of the economy to come up with his own system.

 

Mr. Muir works with real data and has pride in coming up with his own results.

 

All numbers in the ‘Muir Construction Cost Index’ are developed from the patent protected process developed by Mr. Muir. 'All numbers are real and authentic'.

John (Johnnie) Pena-Muir

Johnnie graduated from Archbishop Riordan with a GPA of 4.2. He completed the Engineering track and covered subjects such as Computer programming, Website design, I-phone App development, Robotics and Digital Video Arts.

 

He has an appreciation for History and a passion for the written language and has mastered the art of articulating an argument and position. 

 

Johnnie has been instrumental in the development and build-out of the 'Muir Construction Cost Index'. He is an inspiration to Mr. Muir after going through the brunt of the pandemic during critical learning years with all its challenges and thriving.

 

Johnnie will be providing continued support to ensure the cost index remains up to date, as well as other technical support.
